Marvin Langston Aiken, Sr., age 84 of Coldspring, Texas, passed away Friday, September 13, 2019.  He was born October 29, 1934 in Henderson, Texas to parents Joseph Martin and Leola Aiken who preceded him in death along with his wife, Betty Joyce Aiken; brothers, Bill Aiken and Joe Mack Aiken; and sister, Betty Jean Thornton.

 

Mr. Aiken enjoyed fishing and traveling across the country in his motor home.

 

Survivors include his sons, Marvin L. Aiken, Jr. and wife Elizabeth, Robert L. Aiken and wife Connie, Randall L. Aiken and wife Teresa, and John B. Aiken; grandchildren, Jeremy, Jacob, Jordan, Kori, Philip, Skyler, Nicholas, Thomas, Randall, II. and Stephen; great-grandchildren, Eris and Zen; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., Sunday, September 15, 2019 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 16, 2019 at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Coldspring, Texas. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Baptist Church, Coldspring, Texas.

Evelyn Marie Dillard, age 81 of New Caney, Texas, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2019.  She was born January 12, 1938 in Mt Angel, Oregon to parents Genevieve Prantel and Joe Buhr who preceded her in death along with her children, Vernon Allen and Arlene Ecker; and granddaughter, Kimberly Holleman.

 

Mrs. Dillard worked as a Dietician for 17 years at Northeast Medical. She loved people, always welcomed others with open arms, and brought peace to all she knew. Evelyn loved cooking, family gatherings, and spreading the word of the Lord. She never met a stranger and always tried to make everyone happy.

 

Survivors include her children, Georgia Cheek and husband Nickey, and Alfred “Clint” Ecker; daughter-in-law, Shari Allen; sisters, Rita Buhr, Ruth Sowa and husband Larry, and Eleanor Kintz and husband Frank; grandchildren, Wendy Smith, Nickey Cheek, Jr. and wife Amanda, Brandie Hibler and husband Robert, Shane Cheek and wife Rebecca, Bobby Allen and wife Jessica, Jason Allen, and Christy Cox and husband Jim; great-grandchildren, Julian Cheek, Kobie Cheek, Kimberly Hibler, Robert Hibler, Jr., Shane Cheek, Jr., Shawn Cheek, Kolton Cheek, Jace McClendon, Chloe Byrd, Paisley Byrd and Micah Cox; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Harrison Pierre Langlinais, Jr., age 71 of Shepherd, Texas, passed away Friday, August 30, 2019.  He was born April 5, 1948 in Houston, Texas to parents Harrison Pierre Langlinais, Sr. and Ruth A. Dowdy who preceded him in death along with his step-father, Perry P. Dowdy; and his loving wife, Daisy Mae Langlinais.

 

Mr. Langlinais was a Vietnam Veteran. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching cowboy shows and spending time with his family.

 

Survivors include his daughters, Connie Lynn Stewart (Lonnie), and JoAnn Rose; sisters, Toni Landrum (Johnny), and Sue Bradbery (Garry); brother, Bennie Langlinais; grandchildren, DeMitchel Pierre Armstrong (Melena Villagomez), and Johnny Alton Armstrong; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Eron Shane Poling, age 26 of Splendora, Texas, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2019. He was born December 24, 1992 in Kingwood, Texas to parents La’Joyce Poling and James Poling. He attended and graduated Splendora High School in 2011.  Eron is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Dave Brewster and Harold Poling.

A  hard worker, Eron really enjoyed operating the heavy cranes at the ship yard.  He was good father, and loved spending time with his son, Acein. And keeping his family on their toes was one of his favorite pastimes.  He enjoyed video games, building outdoor furniture and was a good mechanic. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones.

Survivors include his parents, LaJoyce and James M. Poling; son, Acein Shane Poling; brothers, Bradley M. Poling (Brie Vineyard), Christopher J. Poling, and Eric L. Poling; sisters, LaMikea M. Graves and Emily L. Poling; nieces and nephews, Chloe’ Graves, Sophia L. Poling, Evan L. Poling, and Lucas J. Poling; great-nephews, Gunner Graves, Carter Graves, and Marco Graves; cousins, David, Lee Thorin, Anthony, and Daringer; numerous other relatives and friends.

Donna Gayle Sheffield, age 48 of Splendora, Texas, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2019.  She was born September 19, 1970 in Houston, Texas to parents Donald and Barbara Sheffield. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Lillie and Joe Mack Whitten, Minnie and Potts Sheffield; cousin, Ricki Lynn; and niece, Sydney Moody.

Joseph Elbert “Ebb” Williamson, age 76 of New Caney, Texas, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2019.  He was born November 9, 1942 in Houston, Texas to parents William Franklin and Bertie Williamson who preceded him in death along with his siblings, Mozelle Willis, Lloyd Jabo Williamson, Vera Carter, Everett Williamson (Twin Brother), and Gladys Mize.

 

Mr. Williamson graduated from Splendora High School in 1962. Ebb worked in the A/C and Refrigeration field for over 40 years. Ebb was the Chief Engineer over the maintenance for Harris County. He retired from Six Flags Astro World.

Donald Ray Scarborough “Buck”, age 79 of Coldspring, Texas, passed away Monday, September 2, 2019.  He was born February 15, 1940 in Dyer, Tennessee to parents J.H. and Martha Jane Scarborough who preceded him in death.

 

Buck was a true cowboy who loved the sport of Rodeo. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, telling stories to anyone who would listen, hog hunting, coaching youth baseball, and helping any child who needed guidance with a horse. In addition to his other loves, Donald loved coaching kids’ baseball. He traveled all over Texas with his teams.

 

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Joanne Scarborough; sons, Jason Murray, Luke Love and wife Amanda, Marc Love and wife Candace; daughters, Natalie Martin and husband James, Kim Scarborough; brother, David Scarborough and wife Carnell; sisters, Sara Frye and husband Harvey, Diane Miller and husband Fred, Reba Woods and husband Junior, Mary Ann Jones, Beth Williams and husband Bobby; grandchildren, Jerrice Sanderson, Brandy Elrod and husband Chris, Jawanna Sanderson, Skyler Paskie, Lane Love, Levi Love and Stella Love; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Alma Lucille Jackson, age 94 of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2019.  She was born September 19, 1924 in Buffalo, Texas to parents Will and Julia Merten who preceded her in death along with his husband, JC Jackson; brothers, Clarence Merten, Otto Lee Merten and Lawrence Merten, Sr.; and sister, Judy Mae Peters.

Bobby Joe Bradberry, age 68 of Porter, Texas, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2019.  He was born June 11, 1951 in Conroe, Texas to parents J. H. Bradberry and Ruby L. Burkett Bradberry who preceded him in death along with his brother, Jerry Bradberry.

 

Bobby Joe enjoyed crafts and spending time with his family. Mr. Bradberry loved to help others and was always there for his family and friends in their times of need.

 

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Pace Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland, Texas. Pastor Mike Richard will officiate the service at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Interment will follow at Morgan Cemetery.

 

He is survived by his brother, James Bradberry; sister, Darlene Bradberry; nephews, Billy Bradberry, Danny Langston and wife Nicole, Michael Langston and wife Brittani, Thomas Langston, Nicholas Langston, and Christopher Langston; nieces, Wendy Langston and Crystal Langston, along with numerous other family members and friends.

Bessie Mae Youngblood, age 95 of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2019.  She was born July 17, 1924 in Center, Texas to parents John and Nellie Fulsom who preceded her in death along with her husband, Marion Thomas Youngblood; daughter, Marie Lewing Youngblood; sister, Velma Reynolds, and grandchildren, Vincent Youngblood and Clifford Youngblood.

 

Mrs. Youngblood loved her family and friends unconditionally. According to her family, she took longer to wash dishes than anyone they have ever known. She especially loved tending to her flowers and watching them grow.  She always enjoyed keeping her grandchildren, and they loved when she cooked potatoes for them because “nobody could fry potatoes like Grandma!” Even after they were adults, she would ask about them and cared about what was going on in their lives. She will be greatly missed by all her knew her.

 

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Cox; son, Travis Youngblood; sister, Reatha Montgomery; grandchildren, Tracey, Connie, Patty, Patrick, Chris and Curtis; great-grandchildren, Shelby, McKenzie, Aleigh, Charlotte, Taylor, Ted, Audrey and Raelynn; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

 

The family wishes to acknowledge those who made the world a brighter place for Mrs. Youngblood.  Her dear friend she loved so much, Ruby, from Azalea Terrace. They cooked for one another and were best of friends. Also, the staff at Azalea Terrace for your care and friendship…thank you for all that you did over the 18 years she lived there.  Last but not least, her nurse and her caregiver while she was at Focus Care/Cedar Bayou Rehabilitation Center, Veronica and Kathleen.  Having you there was a constant source of comfort.
