Crystal Von Miley

Remembering Crystal Von Miley

Crystal Von Miley, 45, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2018, after a long, courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

Crystal was born in Pasadena, Texas on July 30, 1973 at Bayshore Hospital. She was a happy child and always brought smiles and laughter to anyone she talked to.

She loved people and especially babies. “Aunt” Crystal enjoyed spending time with her young nephews and nieces.  She always had a hug to share. She was the go-to person if you needed to know someone’s birthday or anniversary date.  She knew them all!  She loved to color and write handmade cards.

Her love extended to animals with horses and cats being her favorites and she kept a huge collection of stuffed animals to snuggle with.

Crystal was active in sports and excelled at softball, volleyball and basketball.  She played and competed for many years representing the Pasadena Special Olympics team.

Crystal graduated from South Houston High School. Throughout her school days and into her adulthood, she participated in Special Needs Workshops learning life skills, volunteering and attending social dances.

She loved music, singing out loud, dressing up in bright outfits, wearing colorful hats, flowers and headbands.  Crystal was recognized as a Shooting Star at the 2015 Texas Miss Amazing Pageant Finale where she competed in the ballroom competition.

Crystal loved the beach and traveling by plane and train. Her positive, cheerful attitude remained throughout her illness.

Crystal is now reunited with her mom, Mary Jane Miley and is survived by her dad, Wallace Miley; sisters, Jayne Estes and husband Matt; Melissa Scriven; Debbie Bisbano and husband Tony; Gina Miley; brother Jeff Baisden, aunts, Freddie Costlow, Barbara Ann Hamm and husband Robert; Yvonne Miley and husband Tommy; and uncle, Joey Tourne’ and wife Cena; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins; as well as many extended family members and loving friends.

The family wishes to extend sincere gratitude for the support and special care given by nurses and staff members from Asera Care Hospice of Texas.

Special thanks to Pastor Barbara Chamberlin for presiding over the Memorial Service at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland, Texas.

Donations in memory of Crystal Von Miley may be given to the American Cancer Society or Special Olympics Texas.
