David Ralph Drake “Shorty”, age 69 of Trinity, Texas, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018.  He was born April 18, 1949 in Bryan, Texas to parents Alton Lee and Mary Louise Drake. He is preceded in death by his father, and brother, Tommy Drake.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Drake; mother, Mary Louise Drake; sons, Ronnie Drake and wife Shelly, James “Hog” Drake and wife Samantha; daughter, Amy “Pig” Drake and husband Travis; sisters, Judy McLaurin and Mary Muirhead; grandchildren, Amanda Drake, Hydee Drake, Kody Drake, Garrett Drake, Stevie Reneau, Stacy Reneau, Haylee Reneau, J.D. Drake, Raylee Drake, Calvin Cowart, Ryan Cowart, Preston Cowart, Justin Whitton and Cody Whitton; great-grandchildren, Grant Cowart and Aubree Reneau; cousin, Sonny Drake; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas.  Interment will follow at Plainview Cemetery, Normangee, Texas.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Texas Parks and Wildlife in Mr. Drake's name.
