James Edward Kolek, age 59 of Shepherd, Texas, passed away Friday, November 9, 2018.  He was born August 27, 1959 in Weimar, Texas to parents Frank and Dorothy Kolek. He is preceded in death by his father, Frank Kolek.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Kolek; mother, Dorothy Kolek; sons, Tyler Kolek and Stephen Kolek; sisters, Rita Anders and her husband Edwin Joe, Diane Mueller and her husband Roy, and Charlene Ramirez and her husband Ricky; in-laws, J.L. and Bessie Rose; brothers-in-law, David Rose and his wife Karen, and Brian Rose and his wife Kara; sister-in-law, Diane Moore; nieces, Erin Glueck, Brigette Ramirez, Kathryn Moore, Madison Rose, Evelyn Rose, Faith Rose, and Carolyn Rose; numerous aunts, uncles, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church 410 N. Center St. Weimar, TX. A rosary will follow starting at 10:00 a.m. with mass starting at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be held at Dubina Cemetery, Dubina, Texas. Pallbearers will be David Sassin, Matt Jones, Tommy Hues, Jake Landers, James Stock, and Kevin Janecka. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Anders, Brian Anders, Brandon Kocurek, Travis Kocurek, Ryan Ramirez, Kolby Parker, Carson Rose, and Daniel Rose.
