Hirshell L. Guynes, Sr., 76, of Willis, passed away Friday, April 27, 2018 in Willis.  He was born July 3, 1941 in Diboll to his late parents, Claude Wilson Guynes and Gladys Vertie Lee Guynes.

 

Hirshell had lived in Willis for the last 5 years, previously lived in Trinity for 16 years and spent most of his life in Cleveland.  He was a retired Insulator and a member of the Asbestos Workers Local #22.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Stony Guynes; grandson, Matthew Page and a brother, Earl C. Guynes.

 

Survivors include his daughter, Rene Spears and her husband, Timothy of Montgomery; grandchildren, Misty Palermo and her husband Jonathan, Brandon Tottingham and his wife Crystal, Sarah Page, Colton Pope and his wife, Miranda, Jance Guynes and Brandi Wheeles; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Joe Guynes and his wife, Sue of Cleveland; his loving companion, Stephanie Holt of Willis and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

 

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 30, 2018 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home.  Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at the funeral home with Rev. Heath Ferguson officiating.  Burial will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery.
