Billye Earle Knight, age 90 of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018, after an extended illness.  She was born January 27, 1928 in Fostoria, Texas to Ronald and Gladys Dodd. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Ronald E. Dodd, and sister, Bobbie Jean Welch.

 

Billye was a woman of deep Christian faith, known for her compassionate soul, tireless dedication to her family and amiable nature that made others feel instantly comfortable in her presence.  She was a terrific homemaker, talented seamstress and loved to spend her free moments sharing in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She was an extraordinary mother and wife, married for a remarkable 72 years to James “Cotton” O. Knight.

 

Survivors include her husband, James “Cotton” O. Knight; children, Dianne Boyd, Gayla Knight, Kathy Suchadoll and husband Jay; grandchildren, Bob Boyd and wife Trish, Jeff Boyd and wife Emily, Jimmy Cox and wife Connie, Kristen Sharp and husband Ben, Kaitlyn Humberson and husband Jeremy, and Kara Suchadoll; great-grandchildren, Jacob Boyd and wife Kelsey, Josh Boyd and wife Rileigh, Caleb Boyd, Natalie Boyd, Shelby Boyd, Kayla Cox, Madalyn Sharp, Andrew Sharp and Matthew Sharp; numerous other relatives and friends.

 

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Interment will follow at Morgan Cemetery, Cleveland, Texas. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the South Texas Children's Home or Security First Baptist Church.
