Kenneth Lewis Clark, 77, of Coldspring, Texas passed away July 20, 2018 surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer.  He was born January 12, 1941, in Floresville, Texas and was the son of A. J. and Francis Alma Clark.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Pat; sister Anne Closs and her husband Frank; brother Jack Clark; daughter Kristen Matthews and her husband Andrew; son Patrick Clark; granddaughter Ella Kate Matthews. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents and his sister in law Jeanne Clark.

After graduation from Lamar College in 1965, he began his professional career as a mathematics teacher, sports coach and bus driver at Jasper High School.  Soon after that he was invited to join Philco-Ford at NASA for a long career in the aerospace industry. During his time, he was key to the Apollo and Space Shuttle missions; and continued to give his expertise to NASA for an additional 35 years.  As a lifelong learning enthusiast, he continued to study and achieve academic success, finishing his professional life as an adjunct professor of mathematics until his retirement.

While succeeding professionally he was also a devoted husband and father.  He was a generous soul, spending hours with the community both volunteering at his church as well as, running for the local school board multiple times.  He was active in the Gulf Coast football officiating association and a football official at all levels for 40 years. He coached football, softball, basketball and soccer teams as well as ran a college scholarship fundraising event for many years.  While he loved hunting, fishing, sports, and social events, most of all he loved people. He always had a smile on his face and eager to help anyone that needed it, be it a volunteer event or even if you just needed a capable hand with building a house.

Funeral services will be held July 28th, 2018 at Coldspring United Methodist Church with Reverend Dr. Dan Darby officiating. There will be a visitation with the family and friends in the sanctuary starting at 10am with the memorial service starting at 11am.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Coldspring United Methodist Church Music Department, 1 Cemetery Road, Coldspring, TX 77331.
