Roy A. Turner, age 92 of San Antonio, TX, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2018.  He was born on November 16, 1925 in Fostoria, TX, to parents Harold and Talitha Turner who preceded him in death along with his sister Geneva Manthey and son in law Gary Humphrey.

Roy is survived by his devoted wife Verna Crawford Turner, of San Antonio, TX, his daughter Charlotte Humphrey of San Antonio, TX, and his little sister, Arlene Covey and her husband Russell, of Cleveland TX.  Roy’s memories and legacy will continue to be passed down by his grandchildren:  Kerri Collison of Edmond, OK, Kristi & Tim De Young of Melbourne, Australia, and Kyle & Stephanie Humphrey of Seattle, Washington.  Roy was also the proud great grandfather to 7 great grandchildren: Katelyn, Libby, Abbey, Jack, Turner, Caleb, and Eli.  Roy was loved by so many and played a huge role in his nieces and nephews lives.

Roy worked for Petty Geophysical Engineering Company for 17 years and then he went to work Civil Service for 32 years at the School of Aerospace medicine at Brooks, AFB.  In his free time, Roy was gifted as a handyman.  There wasn’t anything anyone could break that he couldn’t fix.  He was also an avid fisherman and professional camper.  He spent over 44 years camping around, trolling the waters, and catching all the fish in Medina Lake.  He taught all of those that came to visit him at Medina Lake to bait the trotline and to drive the boat.  Roy also had enough hours pulling water skiers behind his boat that he could consider himself a professional ski coach too.

He will be missed by all of his family and friends and especially his dearly loved dog, Pepper.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Henry, Marian, & Caroline and their families who have all made a special effort to visit and help care for their Uncle Roy over the last few months.  Their generosity with their time and love is greatly appreciated.
