Mary Louise Yancey, age 89 of Shepherd, Texas, passed away Monday, March 5, 2018.  She was born December 5, 1928 in Houston, Texas to parents Ralph Morris and Bera Ida Johnson who preceded her in death along with her husband, James Elbert Yancey; daughter, Martha Irene Yancey; and brothers, Ralph Morris Johnson and Clarence David Johnson.

Survivors include her daughters, Mary Gardiner and husband Thomas, Judy Ashley and husband Dee, Ann Sumner and husband Ronnie; grandchildren, Thomas Gardiner, James Gardiner and wife Jobi, Eddie Gardiner, Leroy Gardiner, Johnny Gardiner and wife Jo Ellen, David Hardy and wife Joan, Michelle Scott and husband Chris, Trish Michon and husband Bo, Tandra Speed and husband Charles, Deborah Thibodeaux and husband David, Ida Whiteworth and husband Josh; 37 great-grandchildren, 37 great great-grandchildren, numerous other relatives and friends.

Mary loved to cook, work in her garden with her flowers and spend time with her grandchildren. She was a wealth of knowledge.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon - 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 9, 2018 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Interment will follow at Rosewood Cemetery, Humble, Texas.
