Michael Allen Knox, age 73 of Lago Vista, Texas, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2019.  He was born October 8, 1945 in Wichita Falls, Texas to parents Delma Leeland Knox and Shermie Evlyn Smith who preceded him in death along with his brother, Delma Wayne Knox; sister, Pauline Ann Smith; and animal companions, Koko and Blue.

In 1963, Michael was baptized in Jesus name by Rev. O. W. Williams and received the Gift of the Holy Ghost; wedding bells rang shortly thereafter.  Michael was an avid fisherman who also enjoyed hunting. He was a talented mechanic and a devote Christian. Michael proudly served his country in the Navy and the Coast Guard.

Survivors include his soulmate and love of his life, Barbara Jean Knox; son, Michael Wayne Knox and fiancé Angela Hutson; daughter, Darla Jan Pirner and husband Max “Rick” Pirner; grandchildren, Krista Nichole Knox, Chelsea Michelle Knox, Garrett Austin Knox, Morgan Colton Knox, Brandon Ray Herode, Kyle Michael Herode and Christopher Wayne Herode; great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Lynn Herode and Kataleya Marie Herode; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 7, 2019 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Services will follow starting at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 7, 2019 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Interment will follow at Swift Cemetery, Swift, Texas.
