Thelma Grace Pennington of Splendora, Texas was born November 14, 1926 in Houston, Texas, to parents Marion and Thelma Towler.  She was welcomed into the warm arms of the Lord on Friday, March 29, 2019 at 10:25 p.m.

 

Thelma, who also went by the name Tiny. She grew up in Houston, Texas. Her father and mother owned the Lone Star Service Station and Trailer Park where she could often be found helping during the times of operation.  Her first union of marriage was in 1944, and to that union were born Earline and Edward Recane.  In 1962 she married Raymond Pennington, and their union lasted 44 years. 

 

She enjoyed many interest and hobbies, but her favorites were spending time with family, fishing and beachcombing.  She loved living in Sargent.

 

Thelma is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; father, Marion; mother, Thelma; brothers, Jesse and Wade Towler; and grandsons, Chuck and Herman Hutcherson.

 

Survivors include her daughter, Earline Lucille Recane; son, Edward Earl Recane and wife Diana; grandchild, Angie Recane; great-grandchild, Dillon Huckabay; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery, Houston, Texas.
