Dr. Don Michael Shannon, age 73 of Coldspring, Texas, passed away Friday, January 11, 2019.  He was born May 18, 1945 in Beaumont, Texas to Carlton Lynn and Margaret Evangeline Miller Shannon who preceded him in death.

Dr. Shannon was the pastor of First Baptist Church, Coldspring, Texas for 47 years.  He had a Bachelor’s Degree from HBU, Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Doctor of Theology from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.  He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Survivors include his loving wife, Beverly Shannon; daughters, Kelly Ann Shannon and Melissa Ann Valentine; son, Michael Patrick Shannon; brothers, Lynn Carlton Shannon, and Craig Miller Shannon; grandchildren, Sarah Santy, Emily Clark, Claire Valentine, and Scott Valentine; numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at First Baptist Church, Coldspring, Texas. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at First Baptist Church, Coldspring officiated by Dr. Richard Steel. Interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Coldspring.
